Q & A

So this one is for BigDubb, who apparently thinks I'm funny as shit. Well hot damn! How can I NOT grant his wish! So, here are my answers to some questions going around:

1. The last movie you went to see in a theater: Ray. I cried like a baby. During the first hour of the movie I expected Jamie Foxx to bust out his In Living Color ghetto-girl routine "Haaaayyyy". But I soon got over that and was really surprised at how good an actor he is. He really got that role down.

2. The last movie you watched at home: I'll assume you want the non-porn answer here. That would be this movie I saw on IFC called "Fresh". Awesome, awesome movie. It's about this 12 year-old kid that lives in the ghetto and hustles crack. He's so good that he tricks everybody, including a big time dealer, into getting what he wants. He has them all scheming against eachother. Eventually all the bad guys wind up in jail all because "Fresh" is so good at hustling them. My description does it no justice. You HAVE to see this movie.

3. How many movies do you own: Almost none. Lately people have been buying me DVDs of shows I like. My favorites are Chapelle Show & Dallas (yes, I was addicted to it in college). JR is a total asshole. Actual movies I own are: Friday, Old School & Office Space.

4. What was the last movie you bought? Well, I didn't really buy it, I was sort of forced to. See, I have this horrible habit of not returning movies. By way of lots of late fees and my credit card being charged I now own "South Park the Movie" and some movie with Robin Williams about dying. I love you, Blockbuster!

5. Got Netflix (or a similar service)? No, but I seriously should given my issues in #4.

6. List five movies you adore/mean a lot to you:
Forrest Gump (Makes me cry everytime at the end when he meets his son for the first time and they sit down to watch Sesame Street together)

American Beauty (I love this movie, it was so well-written)

Schindler's List (I was born in Poland & my husband's family is Jewish)

Finding Nemo (It was a cheerful pick-me-up during a bad time in my life)

Friday: This movie reminds me of the good ol' college days with my then-boyfriend-now-husband and our 2 roommates at the time. Let's just say that much pot was smoked during those 2 years we lived together. We must have watched this movie at least 420 times :)

7. Name your guilty pleasure movie (or genre): There are 2. The first one is so embarassing. Goldmember with Mike Meyers. I have seen all 3 Austin Powers movies. The first 2 are OK. But for some reason all the stupid bathroom jokes in Golmember leave me feeling like I did a massive ab workout because I laughed so hard. Every time it's on cable I have to watch it. I swear my husband is going to run away from home soon. The 2nd one is Office Space. My husband gave me that one for my birthday 2 years ago. Having worked in various office environments since college, I can definitely identify with everything that happens in this movie. To this day I quote that squirrly guy, "I was told I could listen to my radio at a reasonable volume." Oh, that's good stuff.

8. Name 3 people to whom you're going to pass these questions on, and why: None of my friends even know what a blog is, much less know about mine. I sorta like it that way.

I'm not really that strict about my blog. I use it mostly to get things off my chest and to be creative. I think I have a fair amount of readers, over 800 since I started the blog in October. Whether or not people want to comment is up to them. I just think it's fun to write down my thoughts & to use it as a creative outlet.
